A Spring Tree

It is snowing buckets here today and we are expectd to get between 6 and 12 inches! I needed a bit of "spring in the air" and so I turned to SCS to get me in the stamping mood. Today's clean and simple challenge has to do with candy!! Browse this site and pick a candy for inspiriation! Yummy! I chose snaps for my inspiration! I love those things but if I eat too many I get a tummy ache (I guess that's true with anything you eat though, huh? Maybe I just need to use a bit more self control!) Anyways, I used the bright snap colors as the flower colors for my tree. I used a tiny flower punch from the Target dollar spot and added some silver brads to their middles. I pleated my ribbon with some super sticky red line tape and addded a button to finish off my card.

In case you are wondering- the shoe shopping went really well and my husband found 2 PAIR of dress shoes in about 2 hours! I know you are as relieved as my children are :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Appreciate the Beauty

It is snowing here today. We are supposed to get about 2 inches of the stuff today. I can't say that I love it but it is pretty to look at. So, there you go, I see the beauty in the snow! Just a quick little card using a sketch from Jen from December. I am soo excited that she will be back to her Saturday "sketch for you to try" starting tomorrow after being on maternity leave for a month! I used my new sizzlits embosslits die from SU! for the butterflies. Aren't they fun- a new toy that I will probably use quite often (so get ready!). My stamp is from the December kit of the month by Unity and I used my favorite Be Loved paper from MME. I did a little bit of piercing around the top panel with an Ecstatsy template too!

Tonight we are venturing out (in the snow) to find some new dress shoes for my husband. You're jealous aren't you? He doesn't like to shop for his apparel alone so that means my daughter and I will be fashion coordinators tonight! We have a quick trip to Target planned too for birthday presents and MAYBE I can duck into Archivers for a quick minute or two?!

Thanks for stopping by!

Rain or Shine

Oh have you seen the new Unity sets that Kate has in the i {heart} papers store!! OMWord are they cute! (I just love this time after CHA when all of the new products start showing up in the store!) I was inspired by the new stuff to get out my January stampin' store kit and create a bit today! I used this week's sketch too. My couple is stamped in memento tuxedo black ink and colored in with Copics. I added some glossy accents to the umbrella for a slick look and some dimension. Then, of course, I had to add a dusting of glitter to it! The DP is new and is called Origins by Basic Grey.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Mini Valentine

The challenge this week on the There She Goes blog is to make an ATC. An ATC, artist trading card, is a 2.5" x 3.5" card. I wanted to play some more with my Chemistry set, so I decided to make a tiny Valentine that would fit in my son's lunch box! I colored my tube of hearts with my Copic markers and then added some cotton candy and frosted lace stickles to some of the hearts. I then layered it on a piece of Bittersweet DP that I embellished with a ribbon and some tiny brads. I layered all of that on a piece of 2.5" x 3.5" piece of kraft card stock. And there you go, a Valentine ATC!

You still have time to play along with us on the There She Goes blog! All you need to do is link up your ATC to this post for a chance to win $5 to the There She Goes online store. The winner will be announced on Monday February 8th.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pure Innocence

Doesn't she just melt your heart? I love these little girls from MFT's Pure Innocence line. This little lady is colored with my Copic markers and I am quite proud of the shading that I did on this one (if I do say so myself!) It's true that you just have to keep playing with them to understand how to use them! A great excuse to sit down with your kids, or by yourself for that matter, and just color! I used some of my favorite Cosmo Cricket DP, Early Bird, and another favorite embellishment, the buttony bow! I hear that MFT is coming out with a few more of these darling little girls on Wednesday night- can't wait to see them!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Copic Ketto

Here is a card I completed on my crafty weekend using my Copic markers. Isn't she adorable? This is Lulu Ketto and she is just perfect for a Valentine! I used some new Suger Rush DP by Basic Grey. I colored my Lulu with my Copics and added some subtle shading around her with a cool grey marker. I also colored her wings and crown with a spica glitter pen. (There's that sparkle again!) Those little silvery dots over the green velvet rick rack are actually clear baubles with a mirrored back from K&Co. They are so pretty in real life and come on a sheet of 5 different colors and sizes.

Most of my supplies for this card are from i {heart} papers. Have you seen the "new" page yet?! Kate has already received a shipment from CHA of Flower Soft! It's the new ultra fine and will be perfect for sand, grass, fur, etc. I've also heard about some other fabulous products that will be appearing in the store in the next few weeks, so be sure to visit there often!

A Little Fairy

I'm ashamed to say that I have had these cute little Ketto fairies from Stampingbella in  my possesion for many months now and only started playing with them last weekend! I needed a thank you card for a good friend and used this great sentiment from Verve to compliment my Ketto. (I got this sentiment in my recent Verve purchase as a little "thank you" so I'm not sure if it's part of a larger set.) I used this week's sketch challenge for my layout and some DP from K&Co. I colored her in with my Copic markers and added some glitter (of course) to her flower!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget that tonight is the There She Goes release party chat in the There She Goes forum from 8-10pm CT. Stop in to say "hi" and check out if you are a winner! See you then!
